Now, the float is drifing around somewhere inside of our tank, and the gas gauge reads "empty." We are faced with having to uninstall and reinstall just because of a cheap retainer clip. At 1/2 full, this was all submerged in fuel. I didn't like it for diesel; would not even think of putting it in a gasoline tank. The Moeller unit has the rheostat at the top of the tank, and there are no wires or connections sloshing around in the fuel. The float arm length is about the same as the depth of the tank, giving a more reliable reading. This unit has a much more logical design. The unit does include the gasket and screws. Also it has sealing washers, so no sealant is needed on the screw threads.
