So, if that's a fair price to begin with, adjusting for the clips (which are over priced) makes it a steal.You can undo the brass fitting (use two big adjustable or fitting crescent wrenches)so you can install the quick connect and then reinstall the brass fitting into the aluminum block on the tank with teflon paste. No, you can't put weight on the tank when it is full... the top deflects and the fuel comes out the fill (duh, but thought I'd share that with you). The fuel gauge can get hung up, so if you need to verify fuel remaining, be sure to rattle its cage, i.e. take it out, put it back and verify. I found that at lower levels the gauge was not helpful. I think my only answer is to carry a spare 6-gallon portable tank anyway when 15 gallons is potentially not enough. The oem tank corroded and leaked badly. This tank fit perfect under the back seat and no more fuel loss into the bilge.I have to leave the fill cap loose as it doesnt seem to vent too well though. |
