5.0 out of 5 stars The best features, February 3, 2010

I tried out a few and liked this belt the best. It's slightly stretchy, so that it fits snugly and doesn't wiggle around. I like that you can slide the bottles to your desired position, or easily remove them if you only want to run with, let's say 1 or 2 bottles. Handy if you don't want a bottle right on your sides where your arms swing. This movable/removable aspect is probably the most significant differentiator of the Amphipod belt.

The bottles clip in and out easily, although I have been known to think one was clipped in and have it fall out during a run. I've got the 4 x 10.5oz bottles, but you can buy larger bottles for longer/hotter runs. The pouch is fine for most little things. Cards, money, some beans or a gel or two. My cell phone fits in it as well. Once again, you can buy a larger pouch if you need one.

Took me a couple of weeks to notice, but the belt also has a long skinny internal pouch that will fit an ipod or (my preference) it's the... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars adjustable configuration is a huge plus, November 18, 2009
This review is from: Amphipod RunLite 4 Hydration Belt (Misc.)
I tried the Fuel Belt, Nathan Belt, and Amphipod in a store before choosing the Amphipod belt.

The Nathan Belt had the most comfortable elastic band, and the bottles were easy to remove and place onto the belt. However, I didn't like the placement of the bottles as the front bottles interferred with my arm swing (on the 4-bottle belt). Even if you remove the front two bottles, the cup holster still got in my way. With the 2-bottle belt, it rode comfortably on my backside, but I couldn't reach the pouch to grab jelly bellies and goo on the run. With the bottles in front, I ran into the problem of my arms swinging into the bottles again.

The Fuel Belt was comfy, but not as comfy as the Nathan. Had the same problem as the Nathan in terms of arms hitting the bottles and not being able to access the pouch when it's situated on my back. Additional disadvantage of the Fuel Belt is that it takes two hands to place the bottles back in the holster. Also, I seem to fall... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Best one out there, November 15, 2009
This review is from: Amphipod RunLite 4 Hydration Belt (Misc.)
I purchased mine last week. It works perfectly. Does not ride up. You can put the bottles wherever you want them and can carry 0 to 6 bottles. I put them all in the small of my back and there is no bounce. You can get larger 10 ounce bottles if you so desire. You can add bottles or goo/phone/car key packs and put them in any configuration you want. For women it may even be better suited since many women have an issue with hydration belts riding high and then their arms hitting the side bottles which are in a fixed position on other hydration belts. The only issue, and it is a small one that is easily overcome, is that the bottles snap into place and if you do not make sure they are secure they will fall out. This is easily overcome by doing it properly. After drinking from the bottle you slide it into the holster FROM THE TOP until it clicks. A simple up/down wiggle check by you will make sure it is secure. I ran a 10 mile at a quick pace and had NO issues whatsoever with the bottles... Read more
